A lot of it focuses on the political intrigue and drama of the Italian rulers for whom Michelangelo worked, and there was no shortage of danger for him.  Stone has a particularly riveting writing style, though; even the parts of the book that focus on Michelangelo sculpting and painting manage to be exciting.]]></description>
